Farmers came from across the country reached around Delhi. These farmers gathered at Jantar Mantar and also marched to parliament. The farmers gathered under the banner of All India Kisan Sangharsh Samiti.
Farmers stand firm, demanding complete debt forgiveness and one-and-a-half times of compensation for the cost of crops and the demand for the implementation of MS Swaminathan Commission’s report.
Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha’s Secretary Atul Kumar Anjan clarified that leaders of various political parties supporting the movement in the Kisan Sabha will participate. The ring master of this much hyped movement Yogendra Yadav has been working since a year to unite farmers in the national capital for the sake of debt ridden farmers of India. All of those farmers marched on Parliament Street shouting slgans against current union Government. Farmers have the support of about 200 farmers organizations and 21 political parties across the country.
The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee has called this March in the name of KISSAN MUKTI MARCH. The convener of the committee Hannan Mollah said on that the groups of farmers are constantly reached Delhi to meet at Ramlila Maidan on last Thursday. He said that groups of farmers from different states of the country, including Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat and Kerala, gathered in the streets of the national capital .Mollah, claimed this, the biggest farmer movement in our country since the independence.
Yogendra Yadav’s organization, Swaraj India tweeted that the farmers of the country have reached Delhi for the historic Kisan Mukti March.A group of farmers reached Ramlila ground under the leadership of Yogendra Yadav, from Brijwasan, Dhaula Kuan and CP. Delhi Police has issued advisory, which clearly states that the number of protesters are of more than thousands.Organizations headed this Kisan movement are demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the problems of the agriculture sector. Under this, the format of the two bills prepared by the Kisan organizations recently has to be passed as a law through this special session of Parliament.
Among them, the first bill relates to the release of farmers’ debt completely and the second is to ensure the right to provide minimum support price to the farming farmers. Only after granting law status to these bills, farmers will be able to get rid of agricultural debt.
On the call of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, more than two hundred farmers outfit and laborers from across the country gathered in the capital of Delhi for two days. According to the proposed program, in this huge demonstration in the name ‘Kisan Mukti Yatra’, at first gathered at Jantar Mantar of Delhi and then from there to march to Parliament.Congress President Rahul Gandhi also reached the parliament route to join the farmers’ March.Rahul Gandhi told the forum that in the last four and a half years, Narendra Modi government has waived the debt of 3.5 billion rupees for 15 people. If the debts of 15 industrialists can be waived then the loan of farmers can also be waived. PM had said the right price would get, MSP would increase.
Mr. Gandhi also urged,” The stream of our thoughts can be different but we all stand together for the future of farmers and youth. We want to tell PM and BJP that we are not going to retreat.”
Rahul Gandhi also said that till the government of India does not work for farmers and youth, nothing will happen. If a government insults the farmers and the youth, it will also be removed.
Mr. Arvind Kejariwal,CM of Delhi also reached the stage of KISAAN MUKTI MARCH and said that the PM has stabbed the farmers in the back. He said why the government does not apply Swaminathan report which is in the right of farmers.
In addition Mr. Kejariwal also informed the famers that no government has given much compensation in 70 years as given by the Delhi government. On this occasion, not only Rahul Gandhi and Kejriwal but also many other veteran leaders like Sitaram Yechury, Farooq Abdullah, Sharad Pawar and other leaders were also present. All these leaders agreed with the demands of the farmers and showed solidarity for farmers and did spit against the Modi government.
Sitaram Yechury said that the election of 2019 is a crusade. Which will be between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. He said without naming anyone, he said that the Kauravas had hundred brothers, but the names of the two are prevalent. Pointing to the opposition parties gathered on the stage, he said that we are Pandavas and beat them in 2019.
Strong security arrangements
Nearly 346 policemen have been deployed till the sub-inspector rank in New Delhi district. 600 policemen from other districts will also be present for their help. There are also nine police companies along with 71 officers from the inspector to the additional DCP rank. The farmers came from across the country, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh .
