8th National Photography Awards

Photo Division of PIB (Press Information Bureau) publicizes 8th National Photography Awards

Press Information Bureau,through it’s photo division under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has summoned  entries for the 8th National Photography Awards.

The Division bestows on these Awards each year, to enhance various angles of our such as art, culture, development, heritage, history, life, people, society, and tradition through the means of photography, and to uplift both the professional and amateur photographers through out the country.

The National Photography Awards are presented under three definite categories – Lifetime Achievement Award, Award for Professional Photographers, and Award for Amateur Photographers.

The Lifetime Achievement Award worth a Cash Prize of Rs. 3,00,000/-.

In this year ,the theme prescribed for the Professional Photographers is ‘Life and Water.’ The awards under the Category for Professionals are one ‘Professional Photographer of the year’ award having Cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- and five Specially Mentioned Awards with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- each.

The theme for this year’s Amateur Photographers is ‘Cultural Heritage of India.’ This awards under the Category for Amateurs are one ‘Amateur Photographer of the year’ award also having a Cash prize of Rs.75,000/- and five Specially Designed Awards having a cash prize of Rs.30,000/- each.
