UN Syed Akbaruddin, India’s Ambassador to UN urged in a statement via Twitter, “Thanks to the support of all our friends UN, India wins seat to Human Rights Council with the highest votes among all candidates and India’s election to the UNHRC is a reflection of high standing that our country enjoys globally.”

Now it’s the appropriate time to act on enormous Human Right violations in this incredible India. Mere winning a seat in the Human Rights Council is not all about the credibility of this Nation.

As per the report ,India received 188 votes out of 193 member countries which signifies rest of the world’s positive expectations on India not to squeeze the Human Rights but to work for prevalence of Human rights in every aspects of common men in India.

Post to this victory, India turned one among UN’s newest members in the Asia Pacific Category. United Nations General Assemblies duly elected 18 countries to Human Rights Council which consists of Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Eritrea, Togo, Somalia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Philippines, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Argentina, Bahamas, Uruguay, Austria, Denmark, Italy.

India Fought and won this election along with other 4 countries named as Bangladesh, Bahrain, Fiji and the Philippines.

Let’s focus the light on past representation of India in Human Rights council of United Nations. India at first elected to this particular commission on 2006 only for a year. Later on elected for 3 years terms  in 2007, 2011 and 2014.

It is really a Big Global record and title that India achieved as in the recent past despite of UN’s allegation of violation of Human Rights in Kashmir ,India won this election with thumping majority.
