BJP  was invited to form government in Haryana, Khattar will take oath as Chief Minister on Sunday afternoon.

Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya on Saturday invited the BJP to form a new government in the state. Manohar Lal Khattar has been nominated for the post of Chief Minister by the BJP.

 The swearing-in ceremony will crop up on Sunday at 2: 15 PM.

Khattar informed that he will take oath as Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan at 2.15 pm on Sunday. He said that JJP leader Dushyant Chautala will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister along with him.

Khattar further informed that with the support of 57 MLAs, including 40 from BJP, 10 from JJP and seven independents, he has submitted a claim before the Governor of Haryana to form the government.

A political party needs at least 46 seats out of a total of 90 seats as the absolute majority to form the Government for Haryana Legislative Assembly.

According to BJP’s internal sources, BJP leaders including Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala met Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya to stake claim to form the government in the state.

 The JJP leader also met the governor and handed over the letter of support to BJP on account of the formation of the government.

Significantly, the BJP has also informed that it will not seek the support of the controversial leader and MLA from Sirsa Gopal Kanda, who is accused in two high profile cases of abetment to suicide, to form the government.

Earlier, Khattar and his cabinet colleagues submitted their resignations to the Governor, which was accepted. The governor asked Khattar to remain the interim chief minister till the formation of the new government.
