CM hails Rs. 20 lakh crore economic package announced by PM

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has hailed the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package announced for the Nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The details of the various aspects of this package were today given by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur.

The Chief Minister said that this package announced by the Prime Minister will prove to be a boon for the weaker sections of the society, medium, small and micro industries, entrepreneurs, labours and common people. He said that this package will prove effective in laying the foundation of a strong and self-reliant India.

He said that an economic incentive of Rs. 50 thousand crores is being issued to ensure the availability of funds (Liquidity) required for medium, small and micro industries ( MSME). This would encourage those wanting to set up new MSME units and those who are already incurring losses due to certain reason would also get the facility to take an additional loan with this. He said as more than 95 percent of the industries in Himachal Pradesh fall under this category, thus the industries of the state would get special benefit from it.

Jai Ram Thakur said that there is also a provision to provide an amount of Rs. 3 lakh crores for giving loans to medium, small and micro industries (MSME), without any collateral security and this loan would be given for a period of 4 years and 100 percent guarantee would be given by the Government of India, on this. He said that up to one year exemption would be provided for repayment of the principal amount of these loans. He said that with these incentives the medium, small and micro industries of the state would be benefitting immensely.

The Chief Minister said that many historic decisions have been taken by the Central Government to make the country self-reliant. He said that it has also been decided to sell the products manufactured in India through various institutions to bring self-sufficiency in the economy of the state. He said that this would give a boost to the production of ​​the country and the state.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the package of Rs. 90 thousand crores for the power sector would benefit the electricity board of the state and would further improve the electricity facilities in the state. He said that all such power distribution companies of the country and the states, which were under pressure, would be financed so that they could continue their work. He said that this would strengthen the efforts of the state government in the power sector.

The Chief Minister said that benefit which was to be provided relating to EPF under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana announced earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was earlier fixed for 3 months, would now be provided for 6 months. He said that E.P.F. and P.F. rates would also be reduced so that more money could be available for the general public. He said that this would benefit the working class and the employment providers as well.

Jai Ram Thakur has also appreciated the decision of the Central Government to give a refund of Rs 18,000 crore to various tax payers which would bring more liquidity in the market.
