Under the Fit- India Movement programme-2020, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) started a virtual run campaign for a period of one month from September 1 to 30.

Fit India Movement is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives.Launched on 29 August 2019 (National Sports Day),by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. Committees has been formed to advice government on this campaign. It is composed of various government officials, members of Indian Olympic Association (IOA), national sports federations, private bodies and fitness promoters.There are representatives of private bodies such as Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Reliance Foundation, JSW Cement and JSW Paints, SE TransStadia Pvt. Ltd., Tata Trust, ASSOCHAM India, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI),government institutions like Ministry Of Defence, Sainik School Society along with Jaiganesh actors Shilpa Shetty and Milind Soman etc.
The force personnel who participated in the run, have been advised to register themselves on the Fit-India Movement link available on CRPF’s official website and to upload their data of daily walking/running along with their individual selfies. The campaign will conclude with a CRPF’s Fit-India Freedom Run to be organised on October 1.
The campaign was started as the Centre declared a seven-day state mourning due to the demise of former President Pranab Mukherjee. Before the start of the programme, the CRPF officials along with their families gathered in the ground by following covid 19 protocols and condoled the death of the former President and paid homage to the departed soul by observing a two-minute silence. It was followed by the virtual run campaign that started with a silent march.
Throughout the virtual run campaign all the participants strictly followed norms of social distancing.
