I bifurcate my life before and after Write India – Author Jyoti Jha at Times LitFest Delhi

A perfect hub where there is a celebration of art in a way that touches everyone’s life, Literature Festivals are the best places to meet new authors, interact with renowned writers, make friends, learn, and discover more about books, writing, and literature in several ways. One of the most awaited literature festivals of the country, Times LitFest celebrated its seventh edition at Sirifort New Delhi this year. Themed around ‘One World Many Words’, the event set the stage for stimulating exchange of views on literature, books, and ideas in the presence of some of the best authors, poets, theatre artists, lyricists, scriptwriters, and filmmakers from across the country and the world.

An HR-turned-Author Jyoti Jha participated in the session ‘From Write India to Published Author’ as a panelist speaker in the grand event, where she spoke about how participating and winning the title of Write India by The Times of India has hugely impacted her life and steered her journey into writing in the second inning of her life. Having been on a career break and globetrotting with her family, Jyoti was in the process of rediscovering herself when Write India came as a huge shift, and she ‘bifurcates her life as before and after Write India’. Conceptualized by the Executive Editor, Times of India, Columnist, and Director- Times Literature Festivals, Vinita Dawra Nangia, Write India has been no less than a revolutionary campaign in the literary world with the sole purpose of creating a platform for aspiring writers. The winning title propelled Jyoti to tread onto a literary path, helping her discover the writer within, and how her books have been largely emotion-driven, thoughts-driven, and situation-driven. An eminent speaker at the IITs and IIM Lucknow, an honorable judge at the Kashiyatra, IIT BHU, and a receiver of several literary awards and accolades, Jyoti contributes to both Hindi and English Literature.

‘The all-inclusive Times LitFest has brought the crowd-sourced budding and new authors to network with the ace writers on one single platform. And I feel honored to be a part of the grand event and speak about my literary journey in the session with esteemed co-panelists’, Jyoti later shared in a media byte at the authors’ lounge during the event. The co-panelists comprised acclaimed authors and Write India winners from all three seasons- Award-winning author, poet, educationist, and writing coach Sutapa Basu, a Member judge- Consumer Forum, author, poet, academician Harshali Singh, and a PM-YUVA bestselling author Aashisha Chakraborty. They shared their experience and literary journey and the important role of Write India in it. Jyoti expressed her gratitude to her editor Nitish Raj, Editor-in-Chief; The Literary Mirror who along with his expert team guided her throughout the literary journey, and who was also present at the Times LitFest.

Headed by Vinita Dawra Nangia, who has conceptualized, felicitated, and launched several cutting-edge literary initiatives to showcase and celebrate literary talents, the event witnessed a grand success with a dedicated team of Kalpana Sharma, Smita Mishra, Gunjan, Reema, and many more experts from The Times of India. The star-studded event was held on 11th and 12th February 2023 and included established names from art, culture, and literature like Geetanjali Shree, Ashwin Sanghi, Anand Neelakantan, Preeti Shenoy, Sara Rai, Ashneer Grover, Deepti Naval, Rene Singh, Kanishka Gupta, Yasser Usman, Priyanka Sinha Jha, William Dalrymple, Manjiri Prabhu, Kiran Manral, Meena Kandasamy, Madhuri Banerjee, Rachel Thomas, Kanchana Banerjee, Sunita Pant Bansal, Kenashree, Kamalini Natesan, to name a few. The two-day event had a ceremonial inauguration by Chief Guest Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw (Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology – Govt. of India), Sh. Samir Jain (Vice-Chairman & Managing Director – The Times Group) and Sh. Atul Jain (Director – DS Group) with the opening address by Sh. C.K. Sharma (Business Head – DS Group).
