Slamming the Congress government, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that they failed to fulfill the promise of loan waiver, destroying the position of Co-operative banks in the state. CM Chouhan said that the ruling state government has given Rs 800 crores to improve the condition of farmers.
“Kamal Nath Government didn’t fulfill the promise of loan waiver, became a regular defaulter and never distributed relief funds. In the name of loan waiver, Congress destroyed the position of co-operative banks. So to improve their condition, we have given 800 crores”, said CM Chouhan.
Before the commencement of the Kisan Kalyan event at Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh, CM Chouhan said 1.11 crores farmers have registered themselves for today’s event. The farmers whose crops were damaged would be liable for the installment. Our government would deposit the first installment in the farmer’s accounts. He further added that PM Modi addressed the farmers via video conferencing.
This comes as farmers have been protesting across the borders of the national capital against the newly enacted three farm laws- Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce Act 2020, Farmers Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm services Act 2020 and Essential Commodities Act 2020.
