SAJJAN KUMAR WAS NOTICED TO SEIZE BAIL

SUPREME COURT SEEKS QUICK HEARING IN 84-RIOT CASE AGAINST CONGRESS VETERAN SAJJAN KUMAR.

New Delhi On the issue of 84 Riot case ,the Supreme Court has asked Sajjan Kumar to file a reply on the plea, asking for the dismissal of the anticipatory bail granted to him. In 84 Riot case , Honorable High Court of Delhi has been granted Bail.

The bench of Justice AK Sikri and Justice Ashok Bhushan said that in such a case, the trial should be over as soon as possible. The bench said that this case is 30 years old and the High Court order is of 200 pages, while in 50 pages it could be settled.

Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh appeared on behalf of the SIT and told the Supreme Court that in July 2016, the investigation against Sajjan Kumar has initiated and the High Court had said that everything in the trial court has to be decided, as yet granted bail. The bench said that all the facts were examined at the time of anticipatory Bail
The bench has issued notice to Sajjan Kumar.

The High Court had restored the trial court order on February 22, in which two cases of 84 riots were granted bail by the trial court. On December 21, 2016, the trial court had granted bail to Sajjan Kumar in two cases.
