Unfortunately ,India born American Sikh police officer Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal was shot dead at a traffic signal in Houston, USA.

Sandeep Singh, posted in the state of Texas, was the first Sikh police officer in the US who was allowed to work with a turban and a beard.
42-year-old Sandeep stopped a car at traffic Red Light in which there was a young man and a woman. Sandeep initiated talking to them. At the mean time a young man named Robert Solis shot in his head from behind. The attacker then escaped and entered a shopping mall from where he was captured after a siege by city police. It is not yet clear whether Robert carried out the incident in hatred.
Sandeep was in the police for 10 years and was a nice person. The police commissioner said that Sandeep was an example for others. Always ready to help. In 2017, he also had helped the storm affected people a lot.
Foreign Minister of India, S. Jaishankar also expressed deep grief over his unfortunate assassination.
In the US, it is the very first incident in which the first turbaned Sikh officer was killed on duty.
