XIM University Organizes XVERSE 2022 – A Virtual Media Workshop

Bhubaneswar: School of Communications, XIM University Bhubaneswar organized a virtual Corporate Media workshop, XVERSE- Explore, Engage & Enrich, on 23rd April 2022 in collaboration with Fachshala Media Literacy Network. This workshop provided the corporate employees, journalists, media educators and media students an exceptional opportunity to experiment, experience, reflect and act on pressing issues of the present and the future. 


Organizing such insightful sessions for corporate employees and journalists was quite enriching as highlighted by Dr. V. Vijay Kumar, Dean, School of Communications. He welcomed all the participants from different corporate, academic institutions and media houses from across the country. This workshop was a live project hosted by final year UG students as a part of their curriculum. The School of Communications does not only focus on academic growth, but also helps the students grow professionally in their chosen field.


This one day workshop had two different sessions and was quite intuitive and enriching. Ms. MinolAjekar, Head and AVP – Corporate Communication, Puravankara focused more on employer branding and internal communications during the first session which is an important key takeaway for corporate employees. Ms. GeetikaVashishata, Adjunct Faculty, Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal University and Factshala trainer for the second session focused on understanding the information ecosystem, facts vs opinion, critical thinking, identifying bias and gave a practical approach for photo and video verification. This workshop provided young journalists, media educators, corporate employees and students with ample scope of learning and exploration of new ideas, fact checking and knowledge about employee branding and internal communication. XVERSE brought more than 65 participants together from the domain of media, academia and from more than 50 corporate industries across the country. Dr. JyotiRanjanSahoo, the faculty coordinator of the workshop was present during the workshop.
