Here are 5 healthy and refreshing summer beverages that should be tried for children during this heat:

  1. Mint Buttermilk: Take 1 small bowl of yogurt, 5-6 mint leaves, 1 small spoon of cumin powder, a pinch of black pepper, and black salt to taste. Grind them well in a grinder and add 3-4 ice cubes to serve it chilled. You can carry this easy summer drink to your office or college and have it during your mid-snack to keep your stomach cool and fresh.
  2. Watermelon Punch: Watermelon is an ideal fruit for summers as it keeps your children hydrated while they play outside for long hours. Remove the seeds and create a watermelon pump. Now your juice is ready, add some salt, lemon juice, and mint leaves according to taste. Chill it for a while and let your children enjoy this delicious summer beverage.
  3. Rose Petal Milkshake: Rose petal milkshake has high hydrating properties due to the presence of gulakand, which is made by mixing rose petals in sugar and can help in preventing heatstroke. If your children are getting bored of plain milk, give this recipe a try. You need 1 cup of cold milk, 1 tablespoon of gulakand, 1 tablespoon of rose syrup, and some ice cubes. Blend all the ingredients together and serve immediately.
  4. Tulsi Lemon Water: Tulsi lemon water acts as a cooling agent for your children in the summer heat. Just add a few tulsi leaves, lemon, and honey for taste. Mix these ingredients and let them sit for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Strain the mixture with the richest flavor of tulsi and serve.
  5. Mango Punch: To make this summer drink, mix 1/2 mango, 1 teaspoon of edible gum, 1/2 teaspoon of basil seeds, 1 teaspoon of jaggery powder, and 1/2 glass of coconut water. This is an excellent beverage for children in the summer as edible gum, coconut water, and basil seeds have cooling properties that will keep your children’s bodies cool.

You can involve your children in the preparation process as well, making it a fun activity and helping them learn more about the ingredients.

Now, start including these summer drinks in your children’s mid-meals to keep them well-hydrated and protected from the fatigue caused by the heat. Remember to consult a pediatrician or doctor before using these suggestions, keeping your children’s health in mind. Also, ensure that all the ingredients you are using are pure and healthy, and take precautions if your children have any specific allergies or sensitivities.
