A Squad of EU MPs Outstretched Srinagar, will bump into the Governor & will also visit Dal Lake

A team of 28 MPs of the European Union(EU) has reached Srinagar on a tour to Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first-ever valley tour of a foreign visitors after Article 370 was paralyzed in the valley.

All these MPs will meet Governor Satyapal Malik including local officials and residents here. Apart from this, they will also visit Srinagar’s famous Dal Lake.

These MPs had a meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Monday in National capital. During this time there was a discussion on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The team of EU MPs will meet the Governor and National Advisors here, as well as the elected representatives.

Opposition Political parties are protesting against EU’s tour

Political parties in India have opposed the visit of these EU MPs to Kashmir and targeted the government. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, BSP chief Mayawati have targeted the central government for this visit of EU MPs.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also targeted the central government on this issue. Priyanka Gandhi said that European MPs in Kashmir were allowed to intervene in the internal matter of India that violates the sovereignty of India, but Indian MPs and leaders were sent back from the airport as soon as they arrived.

What will EU MPs do after going to Jammu and Kashmir?

On Monday, around 27 EU MPs met PM Modi and NSA Ajit Doval, after which he is on a tour to Jammu and Kashmir today. Here all these MPs will meet local people, officials and take stock of the situation. This is the first visit of a foreign party to Kashmir after the incident of abrogating article 370. The party of these MPs will stay in Kashmir tonight, after which they will return to Delhi on Wednesday.

Opposition parties opposed strongly

There is political opposition in India for allowing European MPs to visit Jammu and Kashmir. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted and questioned the government’s decision.

Rahul wrote that EU MPs are allowed to go to Jammu and Kashmir, but India’s leaders or MPs are not allowed to go.
