Former President of Haryana Congress Dr. Ashok Tanwar has resigned from the party. He has already sent his letter of resignation to the party’s acting National President Sonia Gandhi. This may lead to occur a major loss to the Congress party in the coming state assembly elections.

Ashok Tanwar had dissatisfied with the Congress ticket distribution for the Haryana Assembly Election 2019. Two-three days ago he  had resigned from all the committees including the Election Committee of the party.

He was also accused of selling party tickets.

Tanwar alleging rigging in the Congress party had showcased a huge public gathering in New Delhi outside the party headquarters & in front of the residence of Sonia Gandhi.

Ashok Tanwar informed his stunning step to resign by his tweet.

Tanwar has said that after long deliberations with the party workers, I have resigned from the primary membership of the Congress. All the Congressmen and the public are well aware of its reasons.

Ashok Tanwar has always a political imbalance  with former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

After nearly two years of pressure from Hooda, the party leadership  at last removed him from the post of state president just before the announcement of Haryana Assembly Election 2019.

After this, Kumari Sailaja was made the President of Haryana Congress. Bhupendra Singh Hooda was made the leader of the legislative party with in command of the Election Campaign Committee. Tanwar was also included in several committees including the Election Committee, but he did not attend any of the concerned party meetings.

With this, Tanwar opened up the political confrontation with Bhupendra Singh Hooda.

Ashok Tanwar’s supporters staged a protest at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi before the announcement of the Congress ticket in Haryana. Later in this, Ashek Tanwar also reached and fiercely targeted Bhupendra Singh Hooda. In this sequence, he also targeted Ghulam Nabi Azad and other leaders of Haryana in charge of Congress party.

Ashok Tanwar also accused Congress of selling tickets.

He said that the ticket for Sohna assembly seat was sold for five crore rupees.

After the announcement of the Congress candidates, it was revealed that the person who has been given ticket from Sohna also does not have total assets of Rs five crore.

This led to a lot of disgrace for Ashok Tanwar. Kumari Selja also strongly and firmly objected to Tanwar’s statement and termed the charge of distribution of tickets in return of money is quite unfair.
