Delhi Government’s initiative towards Black Fungus Treatment

Aryan Jaiswal/ Delhi// Since the Covid wave affected a very large number of people in Delhi, the increasing number of Black Fungus has left people scared. The government wants to create awareness among them so that they know the symptoms and take proper medical attention to check the disease before it’s late.

On Thursday, CM convened a high-level meeting to tackle the rising cases of black fungus in the capital where the decisions were taken. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said that the government will stop black fungus disease from growing and those who are getting this disease have to be given better treatment as soon as possible. Scaling up preparations to tackle the rising cases of black fungus, Delhi Government also decided to open centres for treatment of black fungus. Dedicated centres for mucormycosis (fungal infection caused by a group of molds known as mucormycetes) treatment centre will be established at Lok Nayak Hospital, GTB and Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, with teams of specialized doctors constituted at each centre for efficient functioning.
