HPNLU Shimla Library Hosts Seminar on Evolving Trends in University Libraries

The Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla Library organized a One-Day Seminar On “Recent Trends of Library Resources and Services in Indian Universities” on December 11th 2023 (Monday) at HPNLU Campus.

The Seminar was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh Pro-Chancellor, IILM University, Gurugram, Haryana. Prof. (Dr.) V. Vijaya Kumar, Director, NLIU, Bhopal; Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit Singh Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor SRM University Sonipat, and Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU Shimla, were also present.

Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU Shimla. Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh and Prof. (Dr.) V. Vijaya Kumar were the Guest of Honor for the one-day Seminar. The Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Parmjit Singh Jaswal.

Dr. Vikram K. Sharma, University Librarian, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharmshala, delivered the Keynote Address and discussed different aspects in detail pertaining to recent trends of Library Resources and Services in Indian Universities.

Three publishers (M/s. Total Library Solution Group Delhi, M/s. Balani Infotech Noida, and Magzter Digital Magzine Store, New Delhi) participated and displayed their latest product and technology and gave presentations about their latest products.

A panel discussion of working Librarians was also conducted by Dr. Prem Chand, Librarian, IIAS Shimla, on the topic ‘Present status of Libraries in electronic Era’.

Around 50 Library professionals from Universities, Institutions, Colleges & Schools from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the Seminar. Ph.D. Scholars and LL.M students of HPNLU, Shimla also participated in the seminar. Dr. Raj Kumar, Librarian, HPNLU Shimla delivered the vote of thanks.
