Movie Review: DASSHMI

This Friday, amidst the selection of films in cinemas, there’s one particular movie releasing that resonates with a powerful message against the backdrop of Ramleela, involving characters of Ram and Ravana. Despite being made on a limited budget, the biggest strength of this film lies in its ability to captivate the audience from start to finish. Rather than relying on artificial sets in studios, the director has shot 90% of the film outdoors, adding depth and authenticity to the storyline.

Our Rating: 3 Stars

The tagline of the film, “Let’s burn the modern-day Ravana in the Dussehra of Kalyug,” speaks volumes about the director Shantunu’s vision. Through this film, he showcases the triumph of goodness over evil in today’s society, shedding light on dark aspects and bringing forth a new ray of hope.

Plot Summary:

The story begins with a sensitive subject like sexual assault, where the Commissioner of Police kidnaps a renowned religious guru from the hospital.
