Relief from extreme heat but difficulties on Streets

A continuous 2-hour heavy rain in Delhi on last Friday absolutely provide a great relief from heat and humidity. The Meteorological Department also predicts that there may be a continuation of heavy rain with lightning for the next two to three days in the National Capital.

On Friday, the weather took a turn, and after 2:30, heavy rain started. The rains that took place for almost two hours in most parts of Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, 52.4 mm of rainfall has been recorded throughout the day.

The temperature also decreased by the rain. The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal. Humidity in the environment was recorded from 60 to 98 percent.

People across Delhi faced water logging in more than 150 places. At the same time, under the Minto Road railway bridge, people stranded inside the bus which was later on pulled out from pond like water there.

As soon as the rains started, the shopkeepers who sell their products openly adjacent to Road were standing in the verandah of Chandni Chowk main road market.

 

Within half an hour of the rain started, the roads in front of Police Headquarters and DDA Development Tower were submerged due to this heavy rain.

At the same time, the traffic from ITO flyovers to ITO Chowk Red Light eventually faced immense traffic hazards. To ease the traffic, the traffic police personnel were trying to open the jam on the road wearing the raincoat.
