VHP Invites Political Leaders for Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha, Denies Political Agenda

Alok Kumar, the International Executive President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), has stated that there is no political motive behind the invitation for the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha program scheduled for January 22.

He mentioned that if there were any political intentions, Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi would have also been invited. According to Hindustan Times, Alok Kumar clarified that invitations have been extended to the leaders of all major political parties for the inauguration of the Ram Temple.

However, Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief of the Shiv Sena (UBT), revealed that he was not invited to the event. Amidst political statements regarding the invitations, Thackeray stated that he does not need an invitation and can visit the temple anytime.

Responding to Thackeray’s comments, Acharya Satyendra Das, the Chief Priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, stated that invitations were sent only to those who are ‘devotees of Lord Ram.’ He emphasized that the event is about devotion, not politics.

Acharya Das criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, stating that he does not know that Raut contested elections in the name of Lord Ram in the past. He accused Raut of disrespecting Lord Ram.

Sanjay Raut had earlier accused the BJP of seeking votes in the name of Lord Ram for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) reiterated that there is no political agenda behind the invitations. Alok Kumar, the International Executive President of the VHP, mentioned that invitations were extended to the heads of all major political parties. He questioned, “If there were any politics involved, why wouldn’t Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge be invited? I personally went to invite Kharge. Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and Nripendra Misra, representing the VHP and the Trust, invited Sonia Gandhi.”

The VHP leader expressed that they want everyone to participate, emphasizing that the event is a national one and open to all. As of now, the Congress has not confirmed the participation of Sonia Gandhi, Kharge, or Adhir Ranjan Choudhary in the program.
